Capitol Pool Service, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Dave Slattery and Ron Callaghan. Dave had more than seven years of pool management experience working for one of the major pool companies in the area. Ron, who graduated from Georgetown University had some banking and finance experience to lend to the effort. In the early 1980’s we were joined by Jon Slattery, Dave’s brother, whose engineering background was a perfect fit for the complicated timers, heaters and pumps of modern swimming pool technology. Drew Essig, our Residential Service Manager, started out as summer help as a high school student and a few years following his graduation from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1998, he returned to us in a full time capacity. Raid Jaber, our Senior Technician and Fleet Manager, has been an important member or our team since 1988. The final member of our elite managerial team was added when Jane Beston, a graduate of American University, accepted the Office Manager position in 1999. Having worked in a major corporation’s human resources department, she was perfectly equipped to handle the demands of our busy and growing office.
Mr. Frank Shultz, former project construction manager for Cullinane home builders, heads our Custom Home Renovations Department. With almost 25 years in construction, Frank can build anything from custom bookcases to an entire house. He excels at kitchen and bath renovations and has been cited for his expertise in industry publications. Frank will maintain our 35 year record of high quality and dependable service as we expand into the home improvement field.
